Candle Care
Tips for getting the most out of your candles:
- Initial Burn: When lighting your candle for the first time, allow it to burn until the wax pool reaches the edges of the container, this helps prevent tunnelling and ensures an even burn throughout the candle's lifespan.
- Trim the Wick: Before each use, trim the wick to approximately to 7cm to prevent excessive smoking and maintain a steady flame. Long wicks can cause sooting and uneven burning.
- Avoid Drafts: Place your candle away from drafts, vents, or fans, as they can cause uneven burning and smoking. A stable environment helps maintain an optimal burn.
- Safety First: Always place the candle on a heat-resistant surface and away from flammable materials. NEVER leave a burning candle unattended and keep it out of reach of children and pets.
- Burn Time: Limit each burn session to 3-4 hours to prevent overheating and ensure the longevity of your candle. Extinguish the flame if the wax pool reaches the container's edge to avoid potential damage.
- Clean Burn: If the candle's glass becomes blackened during burning, extinguish the flame, let it cool, and gently wipe the glass with a dry cloth. This maintains the candle's aesthetic appeal and prevents soot buildup.
- Storage: Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve its fragrance and color. Avoid extreme temperatures, as they can affect the candle's consistency and scent throw.
- Extinguishing: Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame for a cleaner burn and to prevent hot wax from splattering. Avoid blowing directly on the flame, as this can cause sooting and uneven burning.
- Repurpose Responsibly: Once the candle has burned to its end, repurpose the container or recycle it responsibly. Clean out any remaining wax and wick residue before repurposing.
